U14s win a thriller to reach the cup final !

Well, a lot’s been said already, but let me add that it was breathtaking stuff - so close and tense and Compton U14s edged past Sparkford to reach the cup final.

Hugh Tatham who scored impeccably (but stole my pen!), Jamie Hatch whose entire family have gone down with a nasty bug, but he turned out, even though he was ill himself by the end. Charlie Dangerfield who injured his thumb early on but continued to keep wicket, Will who skippered really maturely, JP who batted and bowled so well and took two great boundary catches and Aarv who showed a lot of maturity throughout.#

Great to see Ian and Toby come to support and also Raymond and Jack who did the same. Theo Knott played really well, as did the whole team and it was a pleasure to be there witnessing it!

Must also mention Sri, who organised the opening up so well, Graeme who prepared a belter of a wicket and Terry who ran the bar in Stuart’s absence on holiday. So hope I haven’t missed anyone out...😞

So to the final we go, next Thursday I’m told by the league. One win off doing the double, which would be an outstanding achievement from an outstanding group of boys!
