6. Recruitment Policy

The Club will follow the guidelines contained within the ECB Safe Hands Welfare of Young People in Cricket Policy.
• All new applicants for either voluntary Team Management or Coaching posts will be required to meet with the Club’s Welfare Officer and, if required, an additional club officer. The purpose of this meeting will be to assess the applicant’s suitability to fulfil the post. The applicant will be asked questions on previous involvement within youth sports, as well as details of existing qualifications and any current DBS disclosures.
• Once the Club Welfare Officer is satisfied with the applicant’s suitability, the applicant will be asked to complete a DBS application form. The Club Welfare Officer must inform all applicants of the level of information that an enhanced check will provide.
• All coaches and team managers will be required to sign up to the Code of Conduct for cricket volunteers. Other club members will be made aware of the Code and its contents.
