9. Practice Nets - Code of Conduct


1. Correct Protective Equipment
Players are to wear appropriate protective equipment when batting (pads, box, gloves and optional (helmet). Under 18s must always wear helmets when batting.

2. Player to coach ratios
U/18s: The required ECB clubmark qualified coach to junior player ratios are as follows: Nets: 1:8 per lane.

3. Net Management
A designated person for the session is to be elected as net manager to ensure all safety measures are being followed, including:

  • All participants to be facing the batsman at all times.
  • Bowler to leave the net after bowling before the next bowler is to run in and bowl
  • No persons should put their head near the net when picking up a ball.
  • Playing surface must be safe. No obstacles should be in the way and the playing surface must not be slippery when in use

4. Safety Nets
The safety nets must always be in use during practice sessions.

5. Footwear
Under no circumstances must spikes be worn on the practice nets. Appropriate footwear only

All net users to be aware of and take care not to endanger other persons outside the nets. These nets have been provided by CHCC for its members to promote and encourage the development of cricket within the club. It is everyone’s responsibility to maintain the upkeep of this practice facility and adhere to the safety measures that we have put in place for your safety.
